It was a virus! A hack! Honest!
When cutting and pasting links into an instant message window, remember to check your text BEFORE you hit send. Or you might send something embarrassing, like, oh, an open porn site instead of the URL you intended to forward.
Not that I would know anything about this.
The potential embarrassment of this situation can be dramatically reduced if you are chatting with Halcyon , but again, not that I would know anything about this.
Props to Ernie for the inspiration behind this particular post.

I have to be especially careful of that kind of thing when I have like 4 open IM windows and three of them are friends who I send porn to and the other one is my daughter. Ever since she started talking to me via IM I quadruple-check everything I paste into that little window before I send it.

Thanks for the link to Halcyon. Through his site I got a link to Kaya's true tale of Rudolph. Seriously funny stuff! Those guys are truly talented! I almost died when he had Rudolph explain that he was so depressed, he was listening to a lot of Morrissey. What a great reference!

or like when i was showing my grandmother my iBook and the great iPhoto program, and accidently opening the photo album with the giant phalluses in it. you know how long it takes to close that program?!
