Anyone?
Question. Are there ANY Clippers fans? Anywhere? Everytime I ask this question I feel like Ben Stien.
Clippers?
Clippers?
Anyone?
Anyone?
I admit, I'm no basketball fan, but I have lived in the LA/OC area for more than ten years now. And after a full decade here, I have never seen a Clippers hat, jersey, sticker, banner, or met anyone who publicly claimed to be a Clippers fan. I don't see how they make money. Are they just a tax write off for the Lakers or something? If you are in fact a real live Clippers fan, post something here. I'm curious as hell.

I'm a Clippers Fan! Of course, that's the San Diego Clippers. Terry Cummings (NBA rookie of the year 1982-83), Swen Nater, Lloyd Free (before he was World B. Free), Nick Weatherspoon. Oh yeah, I'm a fan...but only in reference to them as the San Diego Clippers.
The only people I know with Clippers gear are folks from San Diego who remember their not-so-glory days in SD that match their pitiful LA days.
Sports Illustrated ranked the Clippers the worst franchise (based on management, record, etc.) in all the major sports. Go Clips!

Hmmm...now that you mention it, I've never met any either. Although, I do figure there are a few...like Eric Piatowski's parents. And maybe his brother. But even that's a long shot.

I have to agree with your first commenter. Living in SD, I see plenty of Clipper fans down here. I think they're still waiting for the team to return. Sad. Very sad.

I don't know any fans, but some friends of mine bought season tickets, just so that they would have tickets to see the Lakers (when they played the Clippers). The tickets were DIRT cheap.. it works out to be (I think) less than $9 a game! The whole season almost cost less than one ticket to see the Lakers!

The Clippers are literally hell for NBA players. Year after year they get high picks, take good players, then those players become crap. But some Clippers do find fame eventually. Ron Harper, a onetime Clipper, won with the Bulls and Lakers. And I swear I see Lamar Odom jerseys on occasion. 'm not sure they are on people, maybe just clearance racks, but I do see them.

My brother, who lives in Manhattan Beach and works on Wilshire in LA, is an honest-to-God Clippers fan. Owns a hat and a t-shirt. Went to a game on his birthday, and goes to 3-4 games throughout the year.
He claims that in certain circles it's actually hip being a Clippers fan. Kinda like how a movie that's so horrible it's unintentionally funny earns cult status...

i'm sure there are still clipper fans in SD. i just don't know ANY in OC or LA.
and i don't know what "circles" you have to hang with to be cool as a clippers fan, but i think i would rather hang with jack and his friends.

I too was a Sandiago Clipper's fan. I lived in Arizona and often attended home games in San Diego during the 70's and 80's. Oh yeah, I am a fan....I am currently married to Nick Weatherspoon. Oh Yeah, I am a fan.

I was a big Clippers fan when Lloyd Free played there and had some great years. He was mostly unnoticed in the rest of the country but I went to see the team each time they came East during that time frame. They were very entertaining and played a good uptempo style under Gene Shue. If any one would have films or tapes of games from them they should let me know.
