Duh.
I think I miss the phrase "no duh." I even miss the more emphatic "no dueeeey" commonly usually used for heightened effect. My days would be much better if I could occasionally toss a good, hearty "no duuuuh" at the all too frequent displays of idiocy around me. It's tragic that the social expectations for professional behavior prevent it. Seriously. What a gyp.
Speaking of, what ever happened to gyps? I think could use a few more gyps too.

I agree, I was told that only four year olds say, "nope".

do people in california still say 'hella'? that one was beaten out of me by the washingtonians. people in arizona are too lazy to notice i think.

Tassy, where are you from? "Hella" is almost exclusively a northern California expression, and being that I'm from SoCal, you'll never catch me saying it. It sounds so wrong to me, even after six years in the bay area.

Is "no dueeeey" kinda "no doy" sounding? If so, thanks for the nostalgia. I'm gonna over use the hell out of it in a meeting tomorrow.
Sorry, I'm gonna hella use it in a meeting tomorrow.

I used "no duh" today. does that mean I'm hopelessly stuck in the 80's?

I also thought it was "no doy." And I frequently use "no duh" -- even now, in the 21st century.

Peter, you caught me, I'm from the East Bay (20 years) so I say hella, hecka, and most importantly, RAD. I think I must like the beatings.

"Gyp" refers to gypsies so it went the same route as "jewed".
