Eddie Rabbit would have liked it here.
Next month it's been nine years since I moved to Newport. Tonight was just one of the reasons why.

I lived in Costa Mesa once in the late 80's. Holy crap, what a shithole. A friend had a place on the beach in Newport and we would spend as much tmie there as possible. Lovely scenery. Mostly awful people, though.

Believe it or not the sky looked pretty damn fabulous in Hollywood last night, too. I took one look at it and thought...I hope TMJ is enjoying this down at the beach! Glad you did.

$600/month? That's ALL? Ok, Jimbo, if I get this job tomorrow, I'm transferring to NPB and moving in. Hope the room's still there! And look, there's even still little fluffy clouds. There will be nothing to miss in Arizona.

tassy, you won't need the room.

Those pictures were really pretty. Is that area radioactive?

Aloha! Found you through Christy (Reckless Writer/Digital Nirvana)..interestingly enough, we're neighbors. I surf Blackies (the other side of that pier in the pic), usually dawn patrol. $600 a month? Here? In OC Babylon? Damn. I'm obviously doing something very very wrong.
So hey, just so people don't get the wrong idea, Costa Mesa, as el kabong puts it, is hardly a "shithole". A little farther inland toward SA, yeah ok, I'll give him that...but not CM. Growing up in Hawaii and now living here in NB, it IS beautiful and I'm grateful. I have to agree with el kabong on one point though, I do wish the people here were a little less shallow and cared a little bit less about the "packaging" and more about the soul. Then again, I guess that just how it is everywhere. The sunsets, sunrises, and just having the ability to hear "Momma" (the sea) call is worth that small drawback.
