Good excuse for another pina colada.
My brother once called Adam and Drew on Love Line and asked them if tomatoes "make a woman's 'oohyah' stink." I swear to this. I was there. He was promptly mocked. Although Adam did have to wonder about the impact of cherry tomatoes.
Ah, good times.
Since you all have been so entertaining lately, and since it's far too late for me to come up with anything worthwhile to write about, and since I am never likely to find out first hand, nor am I likely to give Dr. Drew a holler, I'm curious, does pineapple work?

Comments
As a community leader on a women's sexual health board, I see this kind of question all the time. (And you thought I was just here for nudey pics.) A person's diet definitely plays a role in the way they smell in general, and the scent and taste of their genital fluids specifically.
Unfortunately, I am not sure what pineapple does, per se. Certain sugars, so long as they don't give a woman a yeast infection, can make her less "bitter," just as they can a man. Asparagus is a great one for a guy, for example, and probably for women (the latter is a guess, but an educated one). It, and foods like it, make him taste "sweeter." They do the same for women to a degree, but women have to be careful that they don't overdo the sugars or it encourages yeast infections (which is just nasty). Garlic in quantity can actually be tasted, as well. Something to think about before taking a date out to your local Italian bistro.
Many people say that vegetarians taste better and/or have less taste and odor than meat-eaters. Having been & been with both, I can say that I think they are mostly correct. Vegetarians tend to have less pungent flavor and aroma. Everyone has a certain body chemistry that will impact their smell and taste, though, so diet only goes so far.
Aren't you sorry you asked?

um, it certainly works for my team, so...

This is too funny. I live far away from my male friend, and we don't get to see each other very often. I just e-mailed him asking him to eat lots of asparagus before I visit him this weekend. Yum. Agree that vegetarianism makes a big difference.

from experience, i do know that coffee drinkers taste much more bitter than non-coffee drinkers.

(gets up to pour out 3rd cup of coffee of the morning)

*crosses coffee off of grocery list*
What about tea drinkers?
Posted by: Tina | April 28, 2004 09:16 AM
asparagus also makes urine smell really BAD. blech. i drink tea, i've heard from more than one person that i taste like honey and lemon...which goes well with tea, but i'm not sure if it's a compliment or not (?)
all i know about boys is that they normally taste like chlorine and salt and there's a plant that blooms in spring that smells *exactly* the same as the stuff.
tmi? i know. you know me, get over it. :P
Posted by: tassy | April 28, 2004 09:21 AM
I don't see how that could be anything but a compliment, unless it's coming from someone who doesn't like lemon and honey. There are certainly much WORSE things you could taste like!-lol

Tassy - TOTALLY know what you mean about 'that plant'. There was one that bloomed outside my high school (in So Cal) biology class (how ironic) and a bunch of us renamed it 'The Ajax Plant'...truly makes sense once you think about it.
And good luck in AZ :-)

Tina ~ I totally agree, if it'd been rotten lemons and sour cream...ick, anyhow yes, I shall take it as a compliment!
Calichick ~ THANK GOD someone else knows about that plant! Everytime I smelled it growing up in the Bay Area, I'd walk past and say "there! there it is! can you smell that? THAT! it's the semen plant!" no one ever believed me, well there were a select few...and just so ya' know, I'm moving OUT of AZ and back to Norcal :)

Maybe your handle shoulda been "Herbal T" instead... ;)

I can't stop singing "Smelly cat" and it's all of your fault! ALL OF YOU!
Posted by: yvonne | April 28, 2004 12:51 PM
funny how even a post about semen ends up being all about tassy's parts, parts that a lesser man would publicly claim to taste positively wonderful, but really, i'm totally above that kind of thing.

We have that plant in GA, but I think it's a tree... The "Come Tree" to be exact. (Botanist terms, of course.)
:P
Posted by: DeeGee | April 28, 2004 03:16 PM
Crap... Is botany about trees or plants? Arborists? Dammit!
Oh well, my joke wasn't that funny anyway.
Posted by: DeeGee | April 28, 2004 03:17 PM
Hmmm...Can't say as I've ever been down there thinking about the taste...I've got better things to concentrate on.

Besides the taste, it's HEALTHY for you! Both male and female juices supposedly have good amounts of vitamin B12. Really good news for vegans and just another good excuse for everyone to eat plenty. Get your recommended daily allowance!

well jimbo, this post was good, but the comments have me ROLLING!
Posted by: brent | April 28, 2004 04:30 PM
lynne, that's a one-a-day i could totally get behind. or rather in front of.

Not really my area of expertise..
but fascinating nonetheless.

Herbal T, that's ME! :D hahahahha....
and what do you mean people are talking about my parts?!
Posted by: Herbal T | April 28, 2004 11:48 PM
This is not entirely on topic, but someone once ruined brie cheese for me by asking is I'd ever noticed that it smells like semen. It does. Exactly.
Posted by: lucky | April 29, 2004 08:32 AM
*makes a mental note to mention that little factoid at next cocktail party*
Posted by: Tina | April 29, 2004 08:46 AM
Ah, the 'Semen Trees'. Brings back funny memories of picnics ruined by the smells of semen.
In college, we would listen to see which girls commented on the remarkable similarity in the smell of those trees and male ejaculation.
You know...to see if they were, um, experienced.
Posted by: jim (kaya) | May 2, 2004 02:43 PM
you were totally just trying to figure out which were the right girls to ask out.
Posted by: the mighty jimbo | May 3, 2004 05:45 PM
"oooookay people. who came in the brie?"
lucky, i can only imagine your cocktail parties. uh, so to speak.
Posted by: the mighty jimbo | May 3, 2004 05:50 PM
if cock is involved in these parties, i don't see why semen would be such a shocker. :P
