Damn right, it's better than yours.
Ever get the feeling that the march of technology sometimes isn't really progress? Look, I know these polyphonic ring tones are all the rage with the kids, but am I the only one who finds it excessively annoying that I have to listen to samples of your pirated MP3 collection every time Brittany wants to talk about her crush on Dylan or Jackson or Tyler or something? I don't care who's milkshake is better than yours. I'm fucking lactose intolerant! The song sucked on the radio. It sucks worse on your cell phone. Its giving me brain freeze for sure.
Here's an idea for a ring tone, I want my cell phone to sound like a PHONE!
Now if you want still want to annoy me with your milkshake, I suppose you can do it with one of these , which with a little luck, will be arriving at my house in just about a day or so.
Your milkshake might be better, but I bet your MP3 player isn't.

You don't know what you are talking about. That song is fucking awesome.
lala-lalala, warm it up ... lala-lalala ... the boys are waiting.

interesting... that's my husband's ring tone for me when i call and i rather like it.
eh, but then again, as of a month ago, he also thought that was a BRAND NEW song, so it's also rather funny in an endearing, couply sort of way.

Someone at work has a cell phone that sounds like a regular phone ring. It's weird.

How come even though I click Yes every time, it never remembers my personal info?

halcyon (my webhost and digital fairy godfather) has gone through many attempts to fix this. we have been sent lots and lots of advice from the internet. still broken. we are stumped.

My phone has an old fashioned English ringer. I went through 16 phones in the verizon shop testing all the ringers before I bought. I can attest to the fact that at least 10 of the phones I tried didn't have one single ringer tone. They were boops, and bips, and high pitched whines. It was frightful.

The husband and I are so pathetic that we never changed our ring tones from the standard. So not only do we have the same phone, with the same ring tone making us both jump yelling, "Yours or mine?" every time one goes off, we pretty much jump every where we go because there is a shocking amount of people with our phones who also never changed their damn ring tone from the standard. (And I keep it because -- curse of all curses -- I'm used to it.) Don't you already have an ipod? By the way the husband just purchased this for the hospital birthing room.

Woohoo Jimbo! Congrats!
I'm getting the Speaker System for my iPod this weekend.
Don't you just love the goodies Apple makes??

This is an annoyance to me as well. I have yet to set a cell phone ring tone to anything but the default. My phone now is on default -- and it's still far from sounding normal.

Santa totally brought me the 40G for Christmas, and I so love it!

Get a Palm Treo 600 - it sounds like a true old-fashioned phone ringing (if you wish). Has a couple of other goodies built in, too, and, guess what: You can even use it as a phone, it's made not only to take little pictures or video clips, or to annoy people surrounding you.

How much for your old iPod? I'm seriously interested if it's within my price range (and still available).

I discovered this past weekend that a good friend of mine who I totally respect in every other way has that milkshake song as his ring tone too. I was more excited than I care to admit.
(Hey, it's catchy..)

to all of you who frequently whine about not having an ipod. couple suggestions: first, apple has a "sale" section on the store part of their web site. its updated daily, so you can frequently find good deals on refurbished ipods. before you get all up in arms about that, refurb is as good or better than new. the warranty is the same AND as it's been fully repaired AND tested, you know it will work. you can't actually say that about new. i saw 10 gig models going for 179 the other day.
and if that doesn't float your boat, ebay. original five gig goes for about 50 bucks now. personally, i would get a new model and spend the $300. best money i ever spent. i also get discounts on all apple products, so if you wanna save 10%-20% on new gear, email me.
