Vote. Please!
I keep hearing people claim that they are comfortable with George Shrub because they feel he represents their "values."
Really? Values? And what, pray tell, are those values?
Nepotism? Cronyism? Greed? Dishonesty? Gross incompetence? Ignorance? Fiscal iressponsibility?
Or how about a total disregard for the Bill of Rights?
Right now what I value is that we have one more chance to remove this embarrassment from office.
Either that or I'll have one more reason to move to Canada.
I'm not a huge fan of Democrats, but at least Kerry is seemingly better qualified for the job.
Hell, toast is better qualified for the job.

Comments
Please avoid any comparisons of toast with the current President. I love toast. I have eaten toast, and toast is no George W. Bush.

These are the same people that if you where to you ask them "are you ignorant or apathetic" they would answer "I don't know and I don't care". People please, if you don't use your right to vote, you lose your right to bitch about the outcome.

You know what I really fear? They're gonna fix this one just like they fixed the last one. Then I too will leave the United State of Autocracy.

I've got to agree w/ Lynne. Three words: Touch Screen Voting.
What happens when voting doesn't actually matter? I haven't had nightmares like this since that damn clown poster in my room when I was like 5 years old. *shudder*

Absentee ballot...a guaranteed paper trail...that's how I'll vote this year.
I'm in Palm Beach Co in FL... we got totally screwed by Bush, Harris,Jeb! and the Supreme Court in 2000.
Time for revenge, baby!

right now i would vote for the clown over the shrub.
i guess i don't have too many bush supporters reading this site. nobody has tried to challenge me on my position. i don't deny anyone their right to an opinion, i'm just curious to hear how people justify their support of the shrub.

I think W. takes a too simplistic look at issues and is surrounded by people who do the same, with the exception of Colin Powell, who sometimes has the look of an embarrassed family member.
However, how is Kerry better qualified? Has he ever authored a significant, thought provoking piece of legislation in all his years in Senate?
It really does suck ass that we will be put in a position, again, of choosing who is the least underwhelming.

I have a sneaking suspicion you will be moving to Canada.

I'd like you to expand on exactly HOW Kerry is better qualified for the job. Or is it just the whole "anybody but Bush" logic?
And I'd also like to say that I am sick and tired of when you people who hate Bush feel it's ok to insult people like ME who will be voting for Bush.
We obviously have different values and issues that are important to us and aren't liberals the ones who are supposed to EMBRACE differences?
Uh. huh. Right.
So you're voting for Kerry. Great, that's your right and your choice. So I'm voting for Bush and I'm ::insert insult here::
Why do I even comment on these things? I'll just get bashed.
I CAN USE THAT BEER NOW.

I'm not gonna bash you. I like you.
And nobody will bash on my blog.
We can debate and argue and poke fun. Bashers get banned.
Unless it's Melly. Melly can bash. Cause I love me some Melly.
And I am not a liberal. I'm a social liberal, fiscal conservative independent.
I'm bashing bush. His decisions have cost the united states hundreds of billions, cost thousands of lives and devastated our reputation in the international community.
What I am asking is just WHAT values people see in this goober? They claim he represents their values, but I see a hypocrite who comes from a fabulously wealthy family who relied on his father's business relationships to open every door. I see an ignorant leader who has little interest in interacting with the world community. I see a liar who used propaganda to justify a war. I see a corporate criminal who has used his administration to line the pockets of the SAME defense contractors and energy interests that paid for his candidacy.
If you are a fiscal conservative and believe in supply side economics and small govt and vote republican, fine. But the people who tell me they vote for him on "values" seem to be looking at this man with some real rose colored glasses.
How is Kerry better? For one thing, he is not tied to the energy lobby, and he is not tied to the Christian Conservative social agenda bent on telling Americans how they should live. Despite his family's vast wealth, I find him to be far, FAR more a man of principle.
The hypocrisy of the Bush administration not only rivals, but devastates anything the Clinton administration did.
And yes. At this point, it's ANYBODY but bush. I mean this in all sincerity when I say I think he will go down in history as one of the worst presidents of all time.
