God's Country.
The upside of spending a weekend rock climbing in Joshua Tree:

And look, I'm smiling, muthereffers. Smiling. Again! Now leave me and my too-cool-for-teeth scowling face alone from now on.

The downside of spending a weekend climbing in Joshua Tree:

I swear that hand crack had the texture of broken glass and sandpaper.
Ah, good times.

Bleh. I think there should've been some kind of warning at the top of the page on this one. "Warning: This blog entry contains graphic images. Those with weak stomachs. . . etc."
Anyhow, is this "smiling" everything I'm told it is? I'm considering working on a grin myself. But I don't want to exert the energy if it's going to be a waste of time.

Little Red Riding Hood said, "My, what long fingers you have! You must be quite tall."

Breathtaking. Except for the picture of your hands.

Omigawd! We're hands sisters! But for different reasons! My hands are all beat up from playing rugby on a nasty NYC field with stones and glass and stuff.

Rock climbing seems so cool but since I am scared of heights that might not be so good.

What beautiful pictures! Well, except the hands. They might be nice without all the scrapes :P
And yeah, what goodsnake said.

Don't climb too high; you'll risk Vertigo.
*ahem*
I'll stop now.
I have found that hemp hand protector does a nice job of softening up scabs and callouses, though. At least, they work for sword nicks.

just make sure you sorta blend in the wax near the wrists...that would look kinda stupid to have the hair just STOP, in a straight line sort of way....
