It's my blog. I don't have to be bipartisan.

I gotta admit, this did crack me up today.

I guess that explains all the fires and mudslides and earthquakes in Cali. Maybe we've been smote.

And then this was sent from a reader in the UK. I was serious with what I said about the rest of the world, kids. Nobody understands this. Nobody.

And finally, one more...

Ok, so maybe that's a little much, but if you have an even vaguely progressive, liberal, or environmental agenda, you can pretty much kiss it goodbye for the next four years.

United States of Canada? I don't fuckin think so.

no offence.

I've been following the previous thread today... I thought I'd swing by and check one last time. I come bearing gifts ! Here.

Billy, that red map is blinding. When I stated earlier that OC was the only county in all the blue states to vote for Bush, it was based on old/early information (I suppose while the votes were still being counted). With that in mind, I wonder if the map will change much when the provisional votes get counted. According to a poll worker, they take about a week or two.

I never realized how consertive California alone has become:

LOL.... ah, thanks Jimbo for the much-needed laugh in such disgusting times....

I was wondering how we could wrap up the left coast, the right coast and my state into our own cool country... ah well... ;)

Thanks for the ... *ahem* laugh. And it's not a "little much." The environment is screwed big time. I'm thinking about retiring to Greenland, which might be the only place where there might be a change of seasons. But then again, Florida will be under water, which might be a good thing.

bill, that does speak volumes. it shows that the bulk of democatic wins are isolated in the major urban centers in the US.

The number that's more critical is still that this country is split right down the middle. In a time when W was provided with a unique opportunity to bring the country together, united under a common goal, he has pushed us farther apart.

It's exactly the same thing that happened in the Australian election - progressive candidates did well in the major urban centres.

Oh, and I understand it, I just don't have to like it. It's about the battle for the "vision" - the competing views of what America is, what it stands for and where its going. You're living in two separate nations living in the one country honey!

If we're talking election maps, I've found the ones on this page to be the most enlightening: http://www.princeton.edu/~rvdb/JAVA/election2004/ - "Purple" America.

We're not as divided as even I thought.

But I still like the USofC idea. :D
