South for the winter.
Calafate. Gonna go check out a really, really big block of ice later. I wonder if Argentines will get offended if I chisel off a chunk of their national park to use with vodka.
What are the odds that the only internet cafe I would find with a laptop connection would be almost at the end of the world?
You can only imagine the speed of this connection.
Did you know that Argentine men frequently kiss when they say hello? I wasn't freaked out by this until someone tried to slip me the tongue.
That's a joke. Tassy and Brent, you can stop your request for pictures.
I have fixed the busted link to the pictures from El Bolson . My bad. I had the file labeled as "private." El Bolson was exciting, but really, it wasn't THAT exciting.
More stories from El Bolson and I'm sure Calafate when I get a chance to type.
Until then, I'll give all you gossip hounds a chance to vent. I'm going to turn off comments again within a day or so, but if you feel compelled to comment on anything, now's your (possibly last) chance.

looks pretty cool and sounds like an extremely aromatic trip so far. speaking of which, here's a sterile joke for you...
what does a 75 year old woman's crotch smell like...?
depends
that place with all the meat and cigarettes sounded great. i'll split a time-share with you. or an apartment complex. you make the call.
anxioiusly looking foward to the picture set of you standing triumphantly over a bloody, defeated penguin on the great frozen south..

It sounds like you're having exactly the kind of trip you were hoping for. Good for you! And the photos are really beautiful.

I think Sean is going through Jimbo withdrawls.
Pictures are great.
As for the lack of conversation....just go up to some random people and carry on a conversation in English...point to things, show them pictures on your camera....follow them and keep talking when they walk away...at least you'll get a conversation (with yourself) and a good laugh out of it.
I love and miss my big brother!!!!

Not in a creepy way or anything, but if you want to practice your Spanish talk to kids. They usually talk slower and are at a level closer to extranjeros.
Keep on keepin' on!

Hi Jimmy. I love reading about all your adventures and I love the pictures. I think it is so neat that you are getting to do this so I am living it through your experiences. So have you bought anything for me, your favorite sister? Maybe a bracelet or something? It's light, you can just add it to your 65 lb. pack. No biggie. Have a good time. See you when I see you.

You've done a great job painting a lovely picture of your journey through your words. It's been fun to check in every day. I'm happy for you.
Best wishes for continued safe travels and personal growth.

I'm his favorite sister.
I won't even ask for a bracelet.... how about a hot, young, muscular Argentinian man who speaks broken English and sexy Spanish....and has a kick-ass job. You can carry him on your back.
